Who Can Deny Golden Gate

Who Can Deny Golden Gate

The best spot on the Golden Gate Bridge is Marshall Beach, where you can look up from the sandy shore and see the red steel cables hanging right before your eyes.

The air and sea breeze are chilly, and as you walk along the beach towards the bridge, the sharp breeze makes your ears tingle, keeping your mind particularly alert. What your eyes behold is the ultimate magnificence, different from the pure mountains and rivers. Before you is nature shaping mountains and rivers into an infinite expanse, while humanity erects a magnificent steel bridge, tightly connecting urban life.

Another best spot is the overlook, at around 5 o'clock in the autumn afternoon, as the sun slowly sets. The orange sunlight bathes the bridge and the vast Pacific Ocean in a scorching golden hue. The crowded observation deck is filled with embracing couples kissing in the twilight, young students lining up for selfies, with the bridge and many people who have come from all over to admire her beauty in the background.

If you want to leave the city without relying on a car, the best companion is the 130 bus. It's an expensive public bus with a one-way fare of six dollars, but it's the only public transportation that takes you across the bridge to the other end by the sea. It's worth the expense.

Taking the 130 can get you to the laid-back town of Sausalito. The houses here are diverse in form, built along the mountainside, facing the vast Pacific Ocean. The town is full of restaurants and cafes, where any one of them would make you want to sit for an entire afternoon. Most locals have boats at home, either yachts for fishing or canoes for leisurely paddling near the sea.

I even happened to see a yacht club party, with middle-aged American couples wearing sunglasses, enjoying champagne and pizza on the lawn by the coast. That day, I couldn't resist checking out the housing prices in the town, with even a random house starting at three to four million dollars. The sea is beautiful, life is leisurely, but it's truly expensive.
